The short answer

Klaipėda is a small, walkable port. The big sight is the Curonian Spit, a long sand dune peninsula reached by a short ferry and then a bus or tour.

  1. Walk to the Old Ferry Terminal (Šiaurinis Ragas, E. Galvanausko Blvd. 1), in the city center.
  2. Take the passenger ferry to Smiltynė (some sailings go straight to the Sea Museum and Dolphinarium).
  3. Bus or tour onward to Nida.

Ferries run every 30 minutes in the warm season, hourly in the cold season (Klaipėda tourism). Fare and crossing time not confirmed: the ferry operator site (keltas.lt) blocked access. Nida is far down the spit; a tour is easier.
