Stockholm's plan depends on the quay. Stadsgården is close to the Old Town; Frihamnen and Värtahamnen need a bus or shuttle; Nynäshamn is about an hour away. The Vasa Museum is the must-see.
Where Stockholm lies
Where your ship docks
Visit Stockholm lists these cruise quays: Stadsgården 160 and 165/167 (closest to Gamla Stan; Stockholm Cruise Center at 165/167 is in the same building as Fotografiska), Frihamnen 634/638/650 and Värtahamnen 523 (about 3 km out; Ports of Stockholm says about half of cruise calls use Frihamnen), plus Skeppsbron, Nybroviken and a mooring buoy for smaller ships. Some big ships call at Nynäshamn, which has a 260 m floating pier (Seawalk). Many ships sail several hours through the archipelago.
Shuttle. Many lines offer a paid shuttle from Frihamnen/Värtahamnen and transfers from Nynäshamn.
