The short answer

Savona is Costa Cruises' own home port on the Italian Riviera, west of Genoa. Costa runs the terminal (Palacrociere). Most Americans fly into Genoa, Milan or Nice and transfer by road or train.

Check-in

  • Follow Costa's check-in time on your boarding pass.

What trips people up

  • Savona is not Genoa. Make sure you go to the right port.
  • Few direct public transport links from the airports.

Do this

  • Book Costa's transfer if you land the same day.
Homeward bound

Leaving the ship: back to the airport

The same routes run in reverse. On the last morning everyone leaves at once, so lines for taxis and buses are at their longest. Book flights home for the afternoon or later, and arrange your ride in advance if you can.
